I’m a rebel who loves traditions. And a rule-breaker with classic taste. I love rich colors and deep conversations. I’m the first person to get lost in a love story. And I prefer real ones over the made-up Hollywood version.

In my free time I love to bask at the feet of the great art masters. You’ll find me regularly visiting the Hirshhorn, the Freer, and the National Gallery of Art here in Washington DC. My favorite artists are Caravaggio, Klee, Edward Westin, & Wayne Theibaud. …..and even if you don’t like modern art, I can make a compelling case for why you too should love the work of Agnes Martin & Mark Rothko.

I didn’t set out in life to be a photographer.  I originally wanted to be an astronaut when I grew up, but after realizing passing calculus wasn't one of my super powers, I made some more realistic career decisions.  (Although I did pick up a handful of pilot's licences along the  way.) No,  I fell into photography about the same way two people fall in love, by divine orchestration. It all started when a Match.com date to go see “Fiddler on the Roof,” turned into being my husband. Inspired by our own wedding photography, I decided to take an art class at our local college, which turned into a Bachelor’s degree from UNCW in studio art.

My photographic style is influenced as much by my own life as it is by my formal art training. I believe good photography is the art of telling a story well and saving that story in a tangible way for the times in our lives when we need it most.

I also believe real skin tones are much more interesting than the light and fluffy, porcelain doll style that is trendy in photography at the moment. I’m drawn to rich colors, deep black and whites, sincere looks, and silly moments. I also love inside jokes, polka dots, hand-written letters, red wine, great architecture, long runs in the rain, and complaining about winter.

I could not have gone with a better photographer for my wedding. Erin is THE BEST by far!!! She's so sweet, funny, and amazingly talented. Not only that, but she is extremely diligent, responsive, and knowledgeable.

Being an artist myself, I very much appreciate her artistic style when it comes to photography. Her style is very sincere, thoughtful, and romantic, which is exactly what I was hoping for. The photos are beautiful with attention to detail and particularly special and individual moments. She took amazing dancing pictures as well, and I most especially love the ones where I'm dancing with my mom. My father looks so genuinely happy in the photos, and I'm so grateful she was able to capture that. My husband's father looked extremely thoughtful and wise in his photos, which I know my husband loved.

She doesn't take pictures just to take pictures. She puts a lot of thought into how she captures a moment and has a great eye. I can't stop looking at my photos!

Erin was such a joy to work with!!  Leading up to our wedding, Erin always made herself available to answer questions, walk through our venue, and make sure she had a thorough understanding of everything we wanted her to capture during our special day. I honestly don't think I ever waited more than a couple hours for a response! She and her assistant, did an amazing job of wrangling our crew and making our event look so elegant and timeless while blending seamlessly into the background!

Within just two and a half weeks, Erin sent us a link to all the photos from the day, perfectly organized into albums and available for immediate download. We spent a few days pouring over all the images and reliving our wedding day! It was the perfect way to come home from our honeymoon! We would highly, highly recommend Erin-- she's amazingly talented, generous with her time, and so, so great to work with!

This note is to let you know how pleased I am with our newborn photos! My favorite, from an artistic standpoint, is the one of Joaquin and his mobile. It reminds me of a photo in the Art Institute of Chicago of a woman looking up at an Alexander Calder sculpture in the National Gallery. Very nicely done!

Thank you again for taking time to shoot and curate such a beautiful collection. You have an incredible gift.
