Definitely! All clients receive the option of a pre-session consult over phone or Skype.  And I'm always available to answer questions by email too.   It’s my goal for you to arrive at your session already feeling like  you already know exactly what to expect. You will also receive a copy of my detailed session guide that will cover how to best prepare for your session, as well as wardrobe recommendations as well.  I promise, you will feel taken care of!

I have never really done anything like this. Do you help with outfit choices and location ideas?

I value providing my clients with timeless portraits that can be cherished for generations. I do my best to avoid current trends and stay focused on photographing beautiful and authentic moments. My newborn session approach is more about capturing the connection between the new baby and parents in an intimate, modern style. I ask for you to refrain from bringing newborn costumes and instead select a few favorite blankets to include in your session.  I also have a very small selection of neutral swaddles that I bring with me as well.

Do you provide props??

Absolutely!  Every photographer loves working with natural light when available; however, I'm equally comfortable setting up and using professional lighting as well.  My lights all fit into one small bag, but can make your home look like it has all the light in the world.  Nearly half of all the images in my portfolio are shot using my professional lighting techniques.

My home doesn't get much/great light.  Can you still get great lifestyle photos there too?

YES! My house doesn’t look like the inside of a catalog either! I've worked in so many different types of spaces including very small ones and have always found creative ways to get photos that you will treasure for years to come.  If you do however, have a home & nursery that you’ve spent time decorating, I’ll be sure to showcase that as well!

My home doesn’t look like the inside of the Pottery Barn catalog. Can you still get beautiful photos in my home?

Right in the comfort of your own home!  I want you to remember this special time in your life as authentically as possible.  Your home will be full of so many of baby's firsts that it only seems right that his/her first photo session should be there as well.

Where will my newborn session take place?

The best time to book your newborn session is during your 1st-2nd trimester.  I book a limited number of sessions each month in order to give the most attention and flexibility to each family I serve.  Once your little one arrives, send me a message and we'll pick an extra date.  I recommend doing portraits between 7-14 days after birth.  During this period your little one will be the most sleepy and unlikely to have baby acne or colic.  Newborn sessions are scheduled Monday-Friday and usually start between 10 and 11AM.

Little One already here?  I also offer  last minute bookings as my schedule allows.

How far in advance should I book/schedule a newborn session?

Congratulations! I generally recommend scheduling maternity portraits around 30-36 weeks.  You'll be showing a great bump by then, but likely won't be too uncomfortable just yet.  Most of my clients choose to do their maternity sessions outdoors; however, occasionally I do one indoors as well - typically in home .  Have a particular location in mind let's chat about it!

I'm expecting!  When & where should I schedule
