Inspired by the paintings of French Rococo painter, Jean Honore Fragonard and the still life paintings of the Dutch Masters, I collaborated with some of Washington DC’s finest wedding vendors to create this wedding inspiration. The shoot was set at the historical Georgian mansion – Salubria in Culpeper, VA, which is now owned by Germana Foundation.
The wedding invitations created by Earnest Bee and included hand-lettering and a watercolor design.
The dress was custom made by designer Fruwah Boma-Chapman out of dove grey material with teal lining.
The shoes we found at Nordstrom’s Top Shop remind me quite a bit of the shoes in Fragonard’s most famous painting The Swing.
Lady bugs have become a symbol of good luck for me. I often find them on shoots and always try to include one when I can.
Florals & styling were managed by Michelle Samson of Misa Floral. Her tablescapes, which were inspired by the Dutch Masters paintings, included many hidden elements including the addition of fruits and vegetables.
Ukrainian Easter eggs were used in lieu of place-cards.
Danielle Muench of Fleur and Flour created a spectacular four tier cake featuring bas relief and incredible flowers made entirely of sugar!
Salbubria is absolutely charming and shows so much of it’s past in the textures on the walls, floors and ceilings. It’s one of my favorite Georgeian Mansions in the the area (of which there are many). Of course with a wedding inspired by the work of Jean Honore Fragonard it would have been nice to find a Rococo inspired place for the shoot however, The Church of Wies was unavailable and there aren’t many Rococo inspired spaces in the the Washington DC area, although Salubria does remind me quite a bit of the Fragonard’s painting The Stolen Kiss.
The day ended with a sunset over the mountains in the the distance and all the beauty that is is available at Salubria.

Hi I’m Erin and the artist behind Erin Tetterton Photography. Welcome to the photographic THE ARCHIVES.
I believe our lives are divine orchestrations. We each have a story and I believe they are stories that deserve to be told and told well. From Weddings, to Babies, and to celebrate the years we are just glad to have behind us. The photos I take are the images that tell the story. Your own history. Your family’s history. ….and the history of those generations that are to come.
My goal is to create authentic, timeless imagery that accurately depicts each phase of your life. Those phases will be different, unique, and beautiful. Inject humor! Do them in a place you love!
