Baby Grant came home to the most adorable dog themed nursery!  His parents, who have mostly been able to work from home over the last months had plenty of time to think through exactly what they wanted this special oasis to look and feel like.  Baby G was also the recipient of a number of hand-made blankets to include the quilt on the back of his crib.

Among the inspiration for the dog themed nursery was his mother’s vintage dog love-y from when she was a child.

Grant was easily one of the the most mellow little guys I’ve met, albeit not particularly sleep-y.  He was super happy throughout his newborn photography session and flashed his baby blues a number of times.

When Grant did finally sleep after a full belly of milk, he flashed the most adorable smiles, which is easily my favorite part of this entire newborn photography session.

Baby toes are easily my favorite!  So perfect & cute!

I’m pretty much always looking for reflections….so if there is a mirror in the nursery during a newborn photography session, I’m probably going to figure out something I can do with it.

I know many, many baby blankets come in white; however, I have a BIG soft spot in my heart of bolder color choices on babies.  Shhhh…..don’t tell anyone in the south, but I even think black works on babies too!

There is no place like your mother’s arms for a snuggle-y nap during a newborn photography session.
