This old town Alexandria cherry blossom session was almost as exciting as seeing the cherry blossoms in the tidal basin, but without all the crowds. If you live in the greater Washington DC area (and even if you don’t) you’ve probably heard about the beautiful cherry blossoms that were gifted to the United States by Japan and planted around the rim of the tidal basin. But DC isn’t the only place you can see cherry blossoms…..

For decades Washingtonian & Virginians too have been planting the blooming cherry trees just about everywhere. Old Town Alexandria has a huge collection of the cherry trees peeping out of garden walls and planted just about anywhere a tree could be planted.
