Katie & Rob had been dreaming of the perfect cherry blossom engagement session at the Jefferson Memorial and around the Tidal Basin from the moment they got engaged this spring. 

The cherry blossoms in DC are REALLY stunning and an incredible backdrop; however, often come with crowds of other Americans also hoping to see or take portraits with the beautiful blooms.  On this particular day the weather had been threatening rain all afternoon and it seems the tourists had taken a break.  ….and for a brief hour we had the cherry blossoms and for the most part the tidal basin also to ourselves.

The overcast skies over Washington DC really brought out the colors and the calm winds made for the most beautiful reflections on the water in the tidal basin.

Those pink cherry blossoms hang perfectly framing the Jefferson.

Even the Jefferson Memorial itself was quiet, except for a few runners.  This was easily the quietest, calmest Cherry Blossom engagement session around the Jefferson Memorial ever.
