Winter is by far my favorite season for outdoor portraits and this maternity session at Ft. Ward Park in Alexandria, VA show precisely why.
The dried grasses from the meadow at Ft. Ward and the leafless trees make for a dramatic backdrop, creating a lacy pattern in the background for this maternity session.
This navy blue dress along side the yellow of the dried grasses set the standard for maternity session style.
One of the special spots at Ft. Ward Park is the arch over the entrance. It makes the perfect frame for portraits and adds to the feeling of location.
V & G also chose to do a 2nd outfit for their maternity session. The 2nd outfit choice was perfectly casual. I loved the touch of orange from the scarf too!

Hi I’m Erin and the artist behind Erin Tetterton Photography. Welcome to the photographic THE ARCHIVES.
I believe our lives are divine orchestrations. We each have a story and I believe they are stories that deserve to be told and told well. From Weddings, to Babies, and to celebrate the years we are just glad to have behind us. The photos I take are the images that tell the story. Your own history. Your family’s history. ….and the history of those generations that are to come.
My goal is to create authentic, timeless imagery that accurately depicts each phase of your life. Those phases will be different, unique, and beautiful. Inject humor! Do them in a place you love!
