Tomorrow is WEDDING DAY for S & J and I can’t wait to go out and celebrate these two! The three of us met up super early for a sunrise engagement session in Old Town Alexandria a few weeks ago. I’ll be entirely honest with you, I’m not much of a morning person, but Old Town Alexandria in the morning never disappoints.
We scored the perfect engagement session weather with a thin overcast, which later opened up to a beautiful sunrise as the sun burned off the thin layer of clouds. We started out on the waterfront with the boast & bridge in the background to the quiet sounds of the rigging on the sailboats in the background.
Check out this adorable little engagement session photobomber!
After the waterfront, we popped back around to the polka-dot mural in front of the Torpedo Factory. I was recently listening to one of my favorite podcasts from 99 Percent Invisible and Roman Marz was discussing the phenomenon of Instagramable walls. THIS is DEFINITELY one of them.
You may have noticed that Jack is also wearing an engagement ring. After he proposed, Sasha also purchased an engagement ring for Jack. She didn’t want to be the only one excited to wear a new little piece of hardware. I love the idea of both people getting a ring!
Wilkes Tunnel is one of the most popular engagement session locations in Old Town Alexandria. The more photogenic side of the tunnel is on the west, which makes an early morning session ideal for getting the very best light.
We made one more stop on our epic engagement session tour of old town to Wales Alley. Wales Alley is the little cobblestone alley with all the adorable-ness of cobblestones, but none of the cars like you have on Captains Row (Prince St.).
Looking forward to seeing both of these two tomorrow for the Carlyle House Wedding and wedding reception at Hummingbird. Follow me on Facebook or Instagram for sneak peeks as soon as they’re available!

Hi I’m Erin and the artist behind Erin Tetterton Photography. Welcome to the photographic THE ARCHIVES.
I believe our lives are divine orchestrations. We each have a story and I believe they are stories that deserve to be told and told well. From Weddings, to Babies, and to celebrate the years we are just glad to have behind us. The photos I take are the images that tell the story. Your own history. Your family’s history. ….and the history of those generations that are to come.
My goal is to create authentic, timeless imagery that accurately depicts each phase of your life. Those phases will be different, unique, and beautiful. Inject humor! Do them in a place you love!
