This is Erin Cassidy, the owner, artist and calligrapher behind Peony & Plume Calligraphy.  Peony & Plum Calligraphy is based in Old Town Alexandria, VA and provides calligraphy services to the Washington DC area and beyond.

Erin specializes in Copperplate and pointed pen calligraphy, a style dating back to the early 17th century. Writing was engraved that many years ago with copper plates, hence where the term Copperplate derives. Copperplate used to be referred to as Roundhand- you will often see the terms used interchangeably. The script shown here is a stylistic variation of Copperplate.

The name Peony & Plume was inspired by one of Erin’s favorite flowers, the peony and the old fashioned quill pens.

Erin runs Peony & Plume out of her space in Old Town Alexandria.

Peony & Plume not only offers envelope address, but can also supply place cards, spot calligraphy of wedding invitations, and more!
